Who we are
FQG Structures B.V. is a deep-tech solar company based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, developing Fractal-based Concentrator Photovoltaics (FbCP).
Fractal-based Concentrator Photovoltaics. An optical layer that helps standard solar panels capture more energy in cloudy and diffuse light.
ScrollMost solar records are set in the lab under perfect conditions. Real panels live under clouds, haze and low sun. FQG Structures builds technology that maximises energy yield in every light environment, on the panels the world already uses.
FQG Structures B.V. is a deep-tech solar company based in Utrecht, the Netherlands, developing Fractal-based Concentrator Photovoltaics (FbCP).
A structural and optical layer applied to the surface of solar panels, designed to capture light that conventional modules lose.
Because FbCP sits on the panel surface, it complements existing cell technologies and storage instead of competing with them.
The FbCP structure is a dense field of microscopic pyramids. Each one acts as a small light trap, redirecting incoming photons into the cell instead of letting them reflect away.
A repeating pyramid structure concentrates light arriving from many angles, not only direct sun.
The structure sits on top of a standard module, so it can work with existing panel designs.
Finer manufacturing means more pyramids per panel. Industrial fabrication is expected to go beyond what desktop 3D printing allows.
The +50% result comes from internal side-by-side measurement of the same panel model with and without the structure. Independent third-party validation is the next milestone.
